4 Paws for Ability Service Dogs
Do you know of a disabled person who needs a service dog? 4 Paws for Abilities has few restrictions for acceptance and works with most families within the boundaries of our organization's ability to train and place the type of dog needed. We say "yes" when many more traditional assistance dog placement agencies say "no."

Canine Angels
We all know how valuable service dogs are to people with disabilities. They provide constant companionship and assistance with everyday tasks such as retrieving dropped items, opening doors, and getting help. Many organizations providing service dogs focus on adults. Canine Angels Service Teams fills a unique niche in the service dog world by providing specially trained service dogs, at no cost, to children as young as 5.

Canine Companions for Independence
The most advanced technology capable of transforming the lives of people with disabilities has a cold nose and a warm heart. Canine Companions for Independence® provides highly-trained assistance dogs for children and adults with disabilities, free of charge.

Pre-Wheelchairs

Ready Racer is recommended for children age 18 months to 5 years (approximately 43" 110 cm tall). It has a weight limit 55 lbs. (25 kg). Ready Racer is a pre-wheelchair pediatric mobility aid that combines high-performance wheelchair handling with sports-car styling. It will improve perceptual-motor skills, strengthen the arms and upper trunk and allow the child to play at peer level. Designed for indoor use, the Ready Racer maneuvers in tight places, moves easily over carpet and rough surfaces and requires minimal arm strength.

Zip Zac is the smallest "wheelchair" I have seen. This is from their website: The original ZipZac™ was created in 2010 for a 1-1/2 year boy named Zachary who has Spina Bifida. He has movement in his hips, but is unable to move his legs. I felt the need to make something that would help Zachary be able to move around the house and experience everyday things like most other kids do. With the help of a engineering friend, we came up with a design that was unique and gave Zachary a running shot at his world around him. From the moment we put him in the chair, he quickly figured how to move the wheels and began his new adventures.

CYCLES

As one of Road Runner Sport's charitable organizations, Athletes Helping Athletes has provided handcycles to over 540 children with disabilities since 2000. AHA is also supporting handcycle programs throughout the U.S.

Working with medical professionals, therapists, and families, each Freedom Concepts model is thoughtfully designed to accommodate the needs of individuals with disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Muscular Dystrophy, Angelman Syndrome, Rett Syndrome, and visual impairment. Any bike can be further customized and adjusted to the exact specifications and unique requirements of the rider, ensuring that each Freedom Concepts bike is a perfect fit.

We pride ourselves on providing a personal service to clients, and catering for special needs, especially for those who are physically challenged. Handcycles and recumbent cycles offer the opportunity for enjoyable and sustained physical exercise for both disabled and able-bodied people. This is a great way to keep fit.
